PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device and its control method or the like that apply automatic white balance adjustment to photographed image data and relives the load on the hardware while keeping the performance of the device. SOLUTION: The image pickup device provided with an image pickup means that picks up an image of an object, a digital processing means that digitizes the image pickup data picked up by the image pickup means, a storage means that temporarily stores the digitally processed image data, an image processing means that applies image processing to the photographed image data stored in the storage means to generate 1st image data, and an image generating means that generates 2nd image data whose number of pixels differs from that of the 1st image data on the basis of the picked-up image data stored in the storage means, is provided with a calculation means that calculates white balance coefficients on the basis of the 2nd image data and the image processing means generates the 1st image data on the basis of the result of calculation by the calculation means. |
