PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant resin composition and an insulated wire, an optical fiber cable and a molded article having an excellent mechanical property, capable of coloring to an arbitrary color and free from troubles such as elusion of a heavy metal compound and a phosphorus compound caused by a reclamation in scraping and emission of a large quantity of smoke and a corrosive gas in incineration, capable of recycling the material and excellent in mass-productiveness. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (a) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin including a peroxide curing type thermoplastic polyolefin resin, (c) 0.01-0.6 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide, (d) 0.03-1.8 pts.wt. of (meth)acrylates and/or allylic crosslinking auxiliary and (B) 50-300 pts.wt. of a mixture of metal hydrate and the metal hydrate pretreated with a crosslinking type silane coupling agent, and heating/kneading at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic resin. |
