PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing circuit for displaying slave screen image that uses a simple circuit so as to generate a reduced image for display on a slave screen without the need for executing complicated prediction and discrimination with respect to the occurrence of overtake. SOLUTION: The video signal processing circuit is provided with a pre-filter section 11 that reduces data in horizontal/vertical directions to generate data for display on a small screen, a pre-filter use coefficient output section 12 that outputs a coefficient used by the pre-filter section, a 1st storage means 14 that stores either of odd numbered and even numbered small screen display data, a 2nd storage means 15 that stores the other of the small screen display data, a 1st selection means 13 that selects the 1st storage means or the 2nd storage means to store the small screen display data, a 2nd selection means 16 that selects the 1st storage means or the 2nd storage means to read the small screen display data, and a control section 17 that controls the 2nd selection means 16 in a way of discriminating the 1st storage means or the 2nd storage means which is not written nor accessed and reading field data from the selected storage means.
