PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette for a pathological tissue sample enabling to conduct a follow-up review of each condition later, while a pathological tissue sample is sampled by a clinician, is sent to a pathologist, an embedded block without burrs is formed there, and the result of a pathological examination is returned to the clinician. SOLUTION: The cassette for a pathological tissue sample includes a frame shaped base 1, a porous pan 7 with a cover arranged in the frame-shaped base 1, and a pan-shaped porous bottom plate 5 detachably engaged with an outer peripheral surface 3a of a porous supporting bottom plate 3, and is so formed that the outer peripheral surface 3a of the porous supporting bottom plate 3 is water-tightly engaged with an inner peripheral surface 6a of an embedding pan 6 of the pathological tissue samples 8 or 8a, and the outer peripheral surface 1d of the frame-shaped base 1 is made flush with the outer peripheral surface 6b of the embedding pan 6.
