PURPOSE: A car for installing elevator rails is provided to cut down the cost of installation and to improve work efficiency by simplifying the installation process. CONSTITUTION: A car for installing elevator rails comprises a rail installation car(160), a winding machine, a first removable safety apparatus(200), a remote controller, and a second safety apparatus(240). The rail installation car is equipped with guide members(260) for going up and down along rails(140) for guiding an elevator. The rail installation car has an upper and lower workspace(164,166) for a worker. The winding machine is installed to the upper side of an installation space(100) of the elevator. The winding machine lifts the rail installation car by wires depending on applying power sources. The first safety apparatus is coupled with the guide rails according to the push action of a footboard(180) installed on the floor of the workspace. The remote controller performs winding action of the wires by applying power source to the winding machine. The second safety apparatus couples the rail installation car and the guide rails, with sensed by the descending speed when the rail installation car descends freely.
