1,188,983. Dispensing liquids. FISHOLOW PRODUCTS Ltd. 10 Apri1, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16408/67. Heading A4T. A liquid, e.g. milk, dispensing machine has a solenoid operated pinch valve normally maintained closed to prevent the flow of liquid along a pipe to a delivery station (10), a timer motor that closes a first switch in the solenoid circuit for a predetermined time to open the valve to allow liquid to be delivered to a transparent or translucent cup (13) at the delivery station, and a light source (15) that passes a beam of light through the cup and to a photo-electric cell (12) so that when the liquid in the cup reaches a pre-selected level the light beam is interrupted and the cell (12) opens a second switch in said circuit to close the valve and terminate the liquid flow. The milk, which may be flavoured, is contained in plastics bags in cardboard cartons, each with its own delivery pipe, in a refrigerated part of the machine, and the motor cycle is initiated by a coin insertion and actuation of a selector element. The motor also operates the light source to close the second switch, and controls operation of a solenoid-catch of a door (18) of the delivery station, closure of the door closing a third switch in said circuit. |
