A fast and reliable document delivery service in which documents to be delivered are converted to electronic form (260) if they are not already in such form (250) and an image thereof is stored on a database (270) that is securely accessible over the Internet to the intended recipient. The service may include notifying the intended recipient of the availability of documents for delivery, forwarding of the documents to intended recipients and time-limiting availability of documents on the database.
