In the present invention there is described a process for removing a catalyst from an olefinic oligomerization product, being produced by oligomerization of one or more olefins in the presence of a BFi3 cocatalyst complex, and subsequent distillation of the oligomerization product, while separating the vaporized BF3 cocatalyst complex and vaporized unreacted monomer from a bottom product.
