PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for stripping a cover which can efficiently strip a cover from a golf ball at normal temperatures regardless of the properties of the material of the cover. SOLUTION: In the apparatus 2 for stripping a cover, each of a first part 4 and a second part 6 has a cylindrical part 8 of such inner diameter of m as to allow a golf ball to pass through the part 8, and blade parts 12 which are disposed along the leading end of the circumference of the part 8 at predetermined intervals, each of the parts 12 having a blade edge 10 directed to the leading side in the axial direction of the part 8. The blade edge 10 of the blade part 12 has a diameter of n which does not allow passage of the golf ball, but allows passage of the central portion of the ball and is circumscribed by an imaginary circle Y coaxial with the cylindrical part 8. For stripping the cover, the golf ball is disposed so as to be directed to the blade part of the first part 4 to push the ball, thereby passing the ball through the cylindrical parts of the first and second parts.
