PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembly constituted so as not to generate burrs in a molded product, and a molding method using the same. SOLUTION: After a fixed mold 11 and a movable mold 12 are closed, a movable template 18 is pressed by a hydraulic cylinder 24 to be brought into contact with a fixed template 14 to form a cavity 22. Thereafter, the cavity 22 is filled with a resin material through a sprue 28 and a side gate 30 to be solidified, and the molds are subsequently opened to take out the molded product 1. Since the fixed template 14 and the movable template 18 can be always brought to a close contact state at the time of mold clamping, the generation of burrs in the molded product 1 can be prevented. Further, the flowability of the resin material is enhanced by increasing the length in the thickness direction of the cavity 22.
