PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of lowering a gain of a focus servo system without lowering stability to eliminate noise generated in seek control and reducing dislocation of focus servo due to side-runout of a disk. SOLUTION: The optical disk device performs recording and/or reproduction of an optical disk 11 by performing the seek control to transfer an optical pickup 15 to a target track on the optical disk 11 and the focus servo of the optical pickup 15 by a detected focus error signal and a first transmission function. The device is provided with a means 17a to hold a second transmission function different from the first transmission function and one or more of disturbance observers (17) to suppress disturbance to the optical pickup 15 and constituted so that the focus servo by the first transmission function is performed when the seek control is not performed and the focus servo by the second transmission function and the disturbance observers (17) is performed when the seek control is performed.
