摘要 PURPOSE: A power augmentation inlet pressurizing system, a gas turbine and a power augmentation method are provided to improve the response rate of power output load of the gas turbine, and to increase peak operating efficiency by using a charging fan. CONSTITUTION: A cycle produces pressurized gas turbine inlet conditions by capturing gas turbine exhaust waste heat, converting the heat into steam energy, applying the steam energy to drive a variable speed, and driving a charging fan(66) located at the gas turbine inlet. The charging fan is used to increase the air mass flow rate into the gas turbine so that the gas turbine shaft horsepower is augmented. In a simple cycle gas turbine that is not equipped with an exhaust waste heat recovery system, the overall cycle efficiency is improved. In combined cycle peaking applications, the variable speed charging fan provides peaking output with the overall peaking efficiency that is better than the combined efficiency of a base load combined cycle plant and a peaking simple cycle plant. Thus, the power output response rate of the gas turbine is improved.
