PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an array board for a liquid crystal display is provided to reduce the width of a data wiring by reducing the gap between pixel electrodes, thereby improving an aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an array board for a liquid crystal display includes the steps of preparing a board(100), forming gate wirings and gate electrodes by evaporating and patterning a first metal on the board, forming a gate insulating film on the board, forming an active layer and an ohmic contact layer accumulated on the gate insulating film in an island shape, forming data wirings(112) defining pixel areas by crossing with the gate wirings and a source electrode protrusively extended from the data wiring to one side of the gate electrode and a drain electrode separated from the source electrode at a predetermined gap, forming a protective film by evaporating an insulating material to the whole surface of the board and patterning thereafter and forming a drain contact hole disclosing the part of the drain electrode, forming a transparent electrode layer(124) on the upper part of the protective film, applying photoresist on the transparent electrode layer(126), placing a mask(128) consisting of a block area, a slit area, and a transparent area on the photoresist layer and proceeding an exposure process, and developing the exposed photoresist and forming pixel electrodes on the pixel area by etching the disclosed transparent electrode layer. |
