PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform substitution retrieval for an external server which is separately provided according to an indication from an external user and to inform the user of the retrieval result. SOLUTION: This system comprise the electronic retrieval substitution processor 1 which can input a retrieval expression, carry out electronic retrieval as a substitute, and distribute the retrieval result, an external user terminal 3 which performs retrieval, an external retrieval server 5 which performs actual retrieval and outputs the result, and a communication line 7 composed of a leased line such as the Internet and a telephone line. The user terminal 3 uses the electronic retrieval substitution processing system and is composed of a PC(personal computer), etc., and a user (client) who is outside differently from the electronic retrieval substitution processor 1 users the terminal to input the retrieval expression, and receives and display the retrieval result.
