PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system in which a user even being out can easily and comfortably confirm the video of a visitor and speak with the visitor through a door-phone by means of a communication terminal such as a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: In the case of absence, a control part 31 of an indoor master unit 30 stores the video of the visitor photographed by a camera 13 of an entrance handset 10 into a video storage part 39 and at the same time, a connection is performed through a telephone line N1 to an ISP 200. Then, the video of the visitor in the video storage part 39 can be read through the Internet N2 by an acquired IP address and electronic mail attached with that IP address is transmitted to a portable telephone set T. When reading is requested from the portable telephone set T by a URL connection based on the IP address, the video of the visitor is transferred from the video storage part 39 and the ISP 200 is disconnected. When access to the video of the visitor is detected, this control part 31 calls the portable telephone T and enables door-phone speaking with the entrance handset 10.
