PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an audio decoding device capable of decoding audio data in real time while suppressing the increase in cost. SOLUTION: In the decoding device for decoding the audio data by processing the sequentially inputted data by software for every processing unit and then processing them by hardware, a CPU 11 performs processing of the data by the dedicated hardware 13 in parallel with that of the following processing unit by the software. Transfer of the data between the software and the hardware is performed via built-in memory 12. Then, regular operational processing is performed by the dedicated hardware and irregular processing is performed by the software, and parallel control of both is facilitated by making them operate in parallel for decoding. Moreover, the decoding method does not require to create a complicated program compared with a decoding method using a special application signal processor and a DSP, and can reduce the term and cost for development.
