PURPOSE: A control method of cooling operation of air conditioner is provided to reduce unnecessary power consumption while keeping pleasantness. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: a first step(S21) determining operating frequency of a compressor for operation of an air conditioner for each of set temperatures; a second step(S22,S23,S24,S25,S26,S27) detecting initial temperature(St) set by a user, indoor temperature(Ti1, Ti2), outdoor temperature(To), blast capacity(F) of an indoor fan and fluctuation(Delta Ti) of the indoor temperature after fixed time has passed since the operation of the air conditioner; a third step(S28,S29) determining indoor load with data detected in the second step and calculating fluctuation of set temperature according to the indoor load; a fourth step(S31) deriving new set temperature(Stn) by calculating the fluctuation of the set temperature in the third step and set temperature in the second step; and a fifth step determining operating frequency of the compressor to operate the air conditioner according to the new set temperature derived in the fourth step.
