PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize increase in the contour size of a secondary battery, having improved safety against possible hazard of bursting or fire of the secondary battery, due to thermal runaway during abnormal overcharge or external short-circuiting. SOLUTION: A battery protective element is connected in series with one of positive and negative electrodes of the secondary battery, having a power generating element consisting of the positive and negative electrodes and an electrolyte, charged in a facing body, and the battery protective element is arranged, in close contact with the power generating element, between the power generating element and the facing body. |
