PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for receiving a burst signal that can reduce occurrence of an error for a non electric field period to the utmost when a mobile station adopting the TDMA(time division multiple access) system selects a base station with stronger electric field strength. SOLUTION: A changeover circuit for an input terminal for a signal obtained from a usual reception circuit and an input terminal for an intermediate frequency band (π/4) QPSK modulation wave signal is provided in a pre-stage of a demodulator and the demodulator demodulates a signal obtained from the usual reception circuit at a reception slot or demodulates the intermediate frequency band (π/4) QPSK modulation wave signal at other slots so as to avoid the occurrence of a non electric field state. The changeover circuit uses a switching signal from a reception slot signal generating circuit or a switching signal produced for a channel switching period.
