[Also in Divisions C7 and H1] An electric switch contact of electrodeposited metal, e.g. Ag, Sn, Pt, Rh or Au, is formed with hard-wearing particles of e.g. WC or PtO by placing the contact on a support 28 heating to e.g. 500 to 1100‹F, and then impinging the particles onto the contact by blasts of e.g. nitrogen, which may be heated, from a nozzle 24. The body of the contact may be made of a Ni-Fe alloy. The contacts may be fed to the apparatus as a continuous strip.</p> |
