A disk device (1) having a pickup which is disposed for reciprocation radially of a disk along two side-by-side rods, a first guide rod (371) and a second guide rod (372), and which is adapted to reproduce information stored in the disk or to store information in the disk and reproduce the stored information, is provided with a guide rod press spring (421) for displacing the second guide rod (372) after the first guide rod (371) and an optical pickup (351) have been incorporated into a holder member (340), a guide rod holding member (430), and a screw (436) threadedly engaging the guide rod holding member (430), wherein a skew adjusting mechanism (42) is installed for adjusting the tightening of the screw (436) to vertically displace the second guide rod (372), thereby adjusting the skew of the optical pickup (351).
