Detecting (M) disease-associated cells (A) in body samples by transfection/infection of them with a nucleic acid construct (B) that contains: (a) a promoter having at least one DNA-binding site for a transcription factor (TF) that has altered activity in diseased cells;and (b) a reporter gene (RG), then detecting any transfected/infected cells from expression of RG, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a kit for performing (M).
