<p>The present invention provides an improved process for the synthesis of aryl pyridine bases by reacting an aromatic aldehyde or ketone and allylic alcohol or aldehyde in presence of ammonia in gas phase, in high yield and selectivity with catalyst obtained by optionally modifying a zeolite having an atomic ratio of Si to Al, 2.5 to 12.5 and/or with at least one metal ion and/or metal compound selected from the group consisting of lead and lanthanum. This process provides an eco-friendly, more eonomical and highly selective heterogeneous method.</p> |
