A device for regulating the gas pressure in a coke oven chamber comprises an immersion cup (4) to which water is added; and an immersion pipe (6) connected to a gas chamber of the coke oven chamber and terminating in the immersion cup. The cup has an overflow (8) and a closable outlet (9). The liquid meniscus in the cup can be regulated using a run-off pipe (13) for water. The end of the run-off pipe protrudes into the immersion pipe and contains inlet openings (14) for the water feed. A slide (15) is arranged within the run-off pipe to close off the inlet openings of the run-off pipe and form an annular channel opening into the immersion cup. Preferred Features: The run-off pipe is connected to a stopper (19) assigned to the outlet of the immersion cup as a movable adjusting element.
