HUMAN MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES AGAINST CAPSULAR POLYSACCHARIDES OF <i>STREPTOCOCCUS PNEUMONIAE</i>

Disclosed herein are human monoclonal antibodies directed against capsular or cell wall-associated polysaccharides of Streptococcus pneumoniae and the hybridoma cell lines that secrete these antibodies. Also disclosed are therapeutic methods for treating S. pneumoniae infected individuals and prophylactic methods for treating individuals at high risk for S. pneumoniae infections by the passive administration of these human monoclonal antibodies.
