Method and apparatus for the use of public authority services

Method for using authority services in which a citizen has a data medium with personal data entries in a fixed given format. The personal data medium is read by a data processing installation belonging to the authority and the personal data compared with those in an authority register. When the data are the same the services provided by the authority can be used. An Independent claim is made for a device for use of authority services using means (13) for reading a personal data medium so that data processing installation (10) can access the data therein.
