PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce NOx and particulates, at the same and, to enable processing of the continuous combustion of the particulates at the light loading of an engine. SOLUTION: Cupper-zeolite catalyst 19 is set in an exhaust passage 16 of an engine with turbo supercharger 11, and a liquid injection nozzle 27 capable of injecting a hydrocarbon liquid 29 toward the cupper-zeolite catalyst is set in the exhaust passage, upper stream of the exhaust gas from the hydrocarbon liquid 29. A hydrocarbon liquid feed means 33 feeds the liquid into the liquid injection nozzle via a liquid-regulating valve 32. Platinum catalyst 21 is set in the exhaust passage on the downstream of the exhaust gas from the platinum catalyst, and a particulate filter 22 for carrying active metal functioning as oxidization catalyst is set on the downstream of the exhaust gas from platinum catalyst. A controller 37 controls the liquid regulating valve, based on each detecting output of a rotating sensor 38, a load sensor 39, a temperature sensor 36 and a pressure sensor 41. |
