PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera wherein a battery door 6 opening/closing a battery compartment is installed in a rear cover 1 to be rotatable around a columnar axis 8 so as to form plane sections 8b, 8b facing each other with an axis line sandwiched on a part of an outer circumference 8a for the axis 8, sensing a resistance when opening the battery door 6 and allowing the door to gently be closed when closing it. SOLUTION: In this structure, a bearing wall section 14 tightly-holding the axis 8 by being engaged with the plane sections 8b, 8b when the battery door 6 closes, may elastically be bent outward by rotational movement of the axis 8 associated with an opening operation of the battery door 6.
