PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wind direction changing unit for an air conditioner, capable of improving wind direction changing effect by always moving the right and left flaps to the main flow of an air flow, and disposing the flaps. SOLUTION: The wind direction changing unit comprises a heat exchanger 8 and a supply fan 7 disposed in an air supply passage 6, an air outlet 10 provided at the passage 6, and upper and lower flaps 12 provided in the outlet 10 to change a vertical wind direction; the right and left flaps 13, associated with at the vertical flaps 12 for changing the lateral wind direction; and in this unit, the flaps 13 are longitudinally moved, in parallel with a fan case 2 of the outlet 10 in cooperation with the vertical rotation of the flaps 12.
