PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously producing a high-purity optically active substance without causing decline in its separatory performance even under the continuous production process. SOLUTION: This method for producing an optically active substance comprises isolating a specific optical isomer by contacting a mixture of a discriminating liquid comprising a discriminating agent and a diluent, a desorbing agent and an optical isomer with an adsorbent of porous matter, wherein this method involves the step of isolating and recovering the discriminating agent and the optically active substance from an effluent followed by removing impurities from the discriminating liquid recovered.
