PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image of high quality at a low power in an active matrix display device, using an optoelectronic element. SOLUTION: A pixel circuit of the active matrix display device using an organic EL element, is provided with a sampling circuit 1 for sampling the signal voltage of signal wiring 7, in synchronization with a scanning pulse, a reference voltage 9, and a comparator circuit 4, and a sampled signal voltage is compared with the reference voltage in the pixel circuit, and a display period for making the EL elements emit light is controlled with a period until the inversion of the voltage relation, so that a light-emitting period during one frame is controlled. |
