PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate spoilage of an appearance and reflection of an unwanted light caused by the existence of a switching driver in an image shooting apparatus provided with the switching driver for turning on or off a detecting switch so as to detect a mounted state of a lens cap. SOLUTION: The image shooting apparatus comprises: the lens cap 34 having a pair of mounting and locking members 36 operated to open and close in the radial direction of a cap body 35; a lens unit 1 having a engaging groove 9 engagable with a pair of the mounting and locking members 36 in the orthogonal direction to an optical axis and shielded from the outside by a concealing part 8; the switch 11 for detecting the mounted state of the lens cap in the lens unit 1; and the switching driver 12 having a sliding member 13 and turning on or off the switch 11 by a movement of the sliding member 13 for moving in the direction of the optical axis by abutting on a pair of the mounting and locking members 36 in the lens unit 1 and arranging a part 20 for abutting on the mounting and locking members 36 in a part of the engaging groove 9.
