PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a surface not to lose planarity of a hydrophobic hard coast film and the hard coat film coated with a liquid containing water without causing troubles such as cissings or craters. SOLUTION: This method is to produce the hard coat film having a hard coat layer comprising a composition containing a cross-linked material of one or more kinds of polymerizable unsaturated double bond-containing compounds on a transparent substrate and is characterized by carrying out corona discharge treatment of the surface of the hard coat film by application of a pulsed high- voltage.
