METHOD AND PLANT FOR ISOLATING AND RECOVERING ALCOHOL FROM WASTE GAS CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for isolating and recovering an alcohol from a waste gas containing the alcohol comprising isolating and recovering the alcohol from 'the waste gas containing the alcohol coexisting with water' by applying an adsorption method to reuse the alcohol as a water-free alcohol, particularly isolating the alcohol in high purity and efficiency, and to provide a plant for performing the above method. SOLUTION: This method comprises using 'an adsorption unit including an adsorbent bed' where adsorption and desorption operations are made alternately, using as the adsorbent bed precoated synthetic zeolite and/or hydrophobic silica gel or similarly precoated active carbon, passing 'an alcohol-containing waste gas where the alcohol and water exist in a mixed condition' through the adsorbent bed to adsorb the alcohol, and isolating and recovering the objective alcohol substantially containing no water.
