MANUFACTURING EQUIPMENT FOR FIBER TYPE OPTICAL COUPLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a manufacturing equipment for a fiber type optical coupler that is free from generation of moisture or rise in the ambient temperature and that has low cost as well as high productivity. SOLUTION: The manufacturing equipment for a fiber type optical coupler uses light energy of a gaseous CO2 laser as a heating source of a fiber. The equipment is composed of an elliptical optical flux converging means for converging the optical flux of the gaseous CO2 laser in a flat elliptical optical flux and an optical scanning means for scanning on the fiber axis the elliptical optical flux so converged by the elliptical optical flux conversing means.
