PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the corrosion of a metal structure by AC current based on a reproducible technique obtainable rationally in a relatively short time. SOLUTION: In an electrochemical measuring test conducted by embedding a test piece 7 made of the same material as an embedded pipe and a counter electrode 8 in soil, applying current within a range of electromagnetic induction current which may generate in the embedded pipe is made to flow with frequency varied, current component flowing through corrosion reaction resistance in an RC parallel equivalent circuit equivalent to a defect interface is found, and evaluation is conducted based on the current component.
