Copolyesters contg ethylene metallo - sulphophenyl indanate groups

The products contain glycol esters of terephthalic acid and sulphonphenyl indane dicarboxylic acid, which are condensed with elimination of glycol. Ethylene terephthalate groups are 90-99.5% of the repeating units of the copolyester, and ethylene metallosulphophenyl indanate units are 10-0.5%. They are used in fibres, films etc. The products have excellent affinity for cationic colourants. They have good heat and hydrolytic stability.
