SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING SHORT MESSAGE TO MANY MOBILE TERMINALS AT THE SAME TIME

PURPOSE: A system and method for transmitting a short message to many mobile terminals at the same time is provided to enable an arbitrary mobile terminal to transmit an identical short message to many mobile terminals at the same time. CONSTITUTION: If the user of a mobile terminal inputs a short message(300), the transmitting terminal sends a data_burst_message containing the inputted short message and various information to a base station(310). Receiving the data_burst_message, the base station transmits an SMS_send signal to an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(320). The MSC transmits a submit_message to an SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(330). The SMSC detects the inputted short message and the phone numbers of receiving terminals from the received submit_message and stores them(340). Then the SMSC recognizes the locations of the receiving terminals and transmits deliver_messages containing the detected short message and the phone numbers and locations of the receiving terminals to the MSC(350). The MSC detects the information contained in the received deliver_messages and recognizes relevant base stations at which the receiving terminals are located respectively. The MSC transmits an SMS_receive signal to each of the recognized base stations(360). Each of the base stations detects the short message and the phone numbers of relevant receiving terminals from the SMS_receive signal and transmits the detected short message to each of the receiving terminals of the detected phone numbers through a data_burst_message(370).
