<p>Appts. for measuring the level of a liquid metal, particularly molten sodium, in a container or pipeline, comprising an induction coil mounted on a magnetic core, with means for controlling its displacement and a nonmagnetic wall separating it from the liquid, and coupled in series with a second temp.-compensating coil folded on itself into hairpin form so as to create zero magnetic field, the two coils forming arms in a measuring bridge in a detector and control circuit and the presence of imbalance in the bridge indicating the passage of the induction coil through the level of the liquid surface.</p> |
