PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve working efficiency in untightening work for a rail tightening bolt and accuracy in control of a bolt tightening torque. SOLUTION: The bolt untightening machine A for the rail tightening bolt is provided with a main frame 1 equipped with a traveling wheel 1b, a generator unit 2, bolt untightening machine unit 3 containing a power impact wrench 9, a lubricating unit 4 jetting lubricating oil O to a rail tightening bolt B, an operation handle 5 and a handle 6 for vertical movement of the impact wrench 9. The impact wrench 9 of the bolt untightening machine unit 3 provides impact force to unghtightening direction of the rail tightening bolt B when untightening the rail tightening bolt B. When tightening the rail tightening bolt B, on the other hand, the impact wrench 9 does not provide impact force to the tightening direction of the rail tightening bolt. By so doing, a socket 23 provided on the tip is successively rotated to the tightening direction of the rail tightening bolt B.
