PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crusher for an empty can capable of crushing the empty can with mechanical energy, although the crusher is extremely of simple and compact construction, in regard to the crusher which crushes the empty can one by one with aerodynamic force. SOLUTION: The crusher for the empty can characterized by the feature that in a cylinder 2 positioned vertically, an opening 4 for the empty can is provided on its upper side side-section and between the ceiling wall 11 and the bottom wall 8, a rod-less piston P is incorporated and at the same time, a spring 7 to pull the piston P down to the side of the bottom wall 8 is provided and the piston P is raised by feeding compressed air into the space between the piston P and the bottom wall 8, and an empty can inserted in advance between the piston P and the ceiling 11 is crushed.
