Photographic dye-imbibition process

Photographic dye-imbibitiom process. Images are obtained by: (1) exposing a material comprising a base, or sublayer made of a hydrophilic substance, and a photosensitive solid organic layer (2) rubbing the solid organic layer with a fine powder comprising a solid support and a dye. (3) exposing the material to the vapours of a substance which is a solvent for the dye and is capable of swelling the sublayer. (4) removing the solid organic layer with a suitable solvent which does not dissolve the sublayer (pref. an alcohol, a hydrocarbon, a (halogenated) hydrocarbon).
