PURPOSE: A network management system is provided to manage the network state regardless of places and models by adding the function of a web server to the NMS(Network Management System) and by applying the minimization algorithm of configuration setup and database query of a web server. CONSTITUTION: A local area network is connected with a host(31) and many clients(32A-32N) through a network. A web NMS(33) is built on the network. Thus, all NMS functions are performed on the web. A command interface transmits action commands to each client. A real-time message interface is periodically refreshed with the status information by each client. A watchdog is for compensating the loss of UDP(User Datagram Protocol) data of the real-time message interface. A status table server is a data reference table managed in the web NMS. A DBS performs data interface between an apache web server and a database. An Apache web server(33A) provides a web environment. A CGI(Computer Graphics Interface) runs the commands of the apache web server.
