WDM TERMINAL AND WDM NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM(wavelength division multiplex) terminal that can contain a plurality of client signals from remote places at a low cost and to provide a WDM network. SOLUTION: The WDM terminal is provided with a multiplexer means that applies wavelength multiplex processing to at least either of other client wave signal or a plurality of other client wave signals subjected to wavelength multiplex processing onto a plurality of client signals subjected to wavelength multiplex processing and transmits the result and the WDM terminal can contain the client signals subjected to wavelength multiplex processing at a low cost because the terminal can apply wavelength multiplex processing to the client signals subjected to wavelength multiplex processing sent from a short distance WDM terminal at a remote place without the need for demultiplexing by each wave onto other client signals.
