PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable terminal equipment that suppresses position registration traffic due to transfer between common mobile communication systems of the portable terminal equipment. SOLUTION: In the case of communication by the portable terminal equipment while selecting a wait channel between 1st and 2nd mobile communication systems where parts of radio wave areas 22-40 are in duplicate, a storage section 18 of the mobile terminal 10 stores a frequency band of the mobile communication system to which the position is registered, a control section 16 detects the stored frequency band of the mobile communication system in the storage section 18 at final position registration and the portable terminal equipment selects the wait channel of the mobile communication system of the detected frequency band with priority.
