PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an accurate focusing operation even when a FEN signal forms a biased S-shaped curve due to the overlap of stray light components in an optical disk reproducing device which generates a focus error signal based on the output signal of an optical pickup and controls the focusing operation of the optical pickup based on the focus error signal. SOLUTION: The optical disk reproducing device of the present invention is provided with an LPF 2 which lets only the low frequency components of the focus error signal pass, a comparing device 3 which compares the size of an output signal from the LPF 2 with that of the focus error signal, a storing means 5 which stores the voltage level of the focus error signal at the time of the inversion of the output of the comparing device 3 and a focus servo controlling part 6 which controls the focusing operation of an optical pickup while making the voltage level stored in the storing means 5 the target value of the focus error signal.
