摘要 PURPOSE: To improve luminous efficacy by forming a slanted discharge gap by means of branch electrodes projecting with a substantially constant width from bus electrodes, without branching the electrodes in a discharge region, in an electrode structure for a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: The electrode structure for a plasma display panel forms a matrix arrangement of unit discharge cells, where the pair of bus electrodes and the pair of branch electrodes projecting respectively from the bus electrodes are formed, in a discharge space between a pair of base plates. The bus electrodes extend the row direction of the arrangement of the unit discharge cells. The branch electrodes cross the discharge region, with a substantially constant width and in only one line in the discharge region in the unit discharge cell. The discharge gap formed by the pair of branch electrodes, projecting respectively from the pair of bus electrodes, is formed in a slanting relation with respect to a column direction of the arrangement of the unit discharge cells.
