<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give an appropriate priority rank to each packet flow in accordance with the volume of a plurality of packet inflows. SOLUTION: A packet flow identification means 12 stores an input packet in a packet storage means corresponding to a priority rank, of the input packet, determined from the value of a specified field of the input packet, and notifies a packet output determination means 15 of the priority rank and the volume of the packet inflow. Based on the relation between the priority rank notified from the packet flow identification means 12 and that of the packet storage means which is output most recently, the packet output determination means 15 determines from which packet store means the packet should be output. The packet output determination means 15 also determines the packet priority rank according to the volume of the packet inflow and notifies a packet mark means 17 of the determined priority rank. The packet mark means 17 writes the priority rank notified from the packet decision output means in a specified field of the packet received from the packet storage means.</p> |
