PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an image possible due to wrinkles having a continuity excellent more than that at a ridge is selected at portions having a large curvature of the ridge such as cores and deltas, and the extraction of the ridge may be failed. SOLUTION: An area characteristic determining means 17 determines whether an area is one in which the ridge is solely present or one in which the wrinkles and ridge are mixedly present. An adoptive ridge image selection means 18 selects an image, showing the ridge from among ridge possible images, based on a corresponding evaluation standard for each wrinkle ridge mixing area and a ridge independently present area. |
