PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make data transferable efficiently by eliminating wasteful processing using a SCSI(Small Computer Systems Interface) bus. SOLUTION: A target address comparison circuit 108 compares the identifier of a lower-level device, which is read from a SCSI interface control circuit 103 in a predetermined condition and from which a reconnect request is issued, with an identifier stored in a current target address register 107. The comparison result is sent to an input/output controller control circuit 102 and, if a match is found, data transfer processing is continued without saving and restoring the current pointer.
